The Z9 is a good starters case. I have the Z9 Plus which is better with more fans, a fan controller and digital temp display. The Z9 U3 is the new improved version with USB3 ports and a proper side window not mesh. A modular PSU will help as there isn't much room behind the mobo tray.

60GB SSD is going to be £60ish, most have the sandforce controller. For another £20 you can get 128GB with a better controller like THIS one. The 60GB SSDs are poor value in my eyes. SSDs are great but you can always add one much later on.

Thanks - As said before though the mobo really won't be of any use as I won't be overclocking and I really do need to stay as close as £450 as possible.

For £40 is there any better cases than the Z9?

Cheers

You've picked the very basic Z9. The Z9 Plus is pretty good but as I said I would look at the Z9 U3, you get sooo much stuff for the price tag. a lot of the budget cases will lack USB3 support and only have one fan installed (eg Bitfenix Merc). The NZXT 210 has USB3 and two fans installed, so that's a safe choice.

If you will upgrade to an i5 then it might as well be a K so you can overclock and the "K" CPUs have a better IGP. Overclocking is dead simple, just up the ratio in the BIOS. Setting it to 40 would be 4Ghz and the stock heatsink should cope with that ok. Yeah sure some people want to push their kit harder and then you need to think about upping the voltage and a better heatsink but you really don't need to go that far.

Mobo has a 3 year uk based warranty and a Dual BIOS which is a nice safety feature. Being a Z77 you have USB3 and Sata3 and the overclocking option for the K CPUs. It also has the LucidMVP software to make clever use of the IGP in the CPU.

RAM is cheaper, PSU is OOS but you can still place the order or just switch to the modular corsair I used earlier......£457 is pretty damn close to £450 in my eyes ;)

If you want an SSD and you are going to upgrade the CPU eventually then maybe consider a pentium CPU

As I said I'd prefer to spend £20 more to get twice the capacity and a better controller but you have to draw a line in the sand somewhere I suppose and stop the spending.

Thanks honor but I'm really not liking the look of That case . The RAM has a poor review and corsair psus are awful at the moment. The last one I had had to be returned.

I might just get the b77 And Keep everything else the same.
