Final Fantasy 7 question :- buggin me :)

whilst i agree ff7 was good , i cant imagine playing it today that would just be weird. and plus i got to the hill bit but never mamaged to complete the 3 bosses ! that in itself is the most annoying thing ever.

It was a great game, and its funny how it hasnt really been bettered.

I mean with the way it jumped in and out of cutscenes. The tons of distractions from the main story. The main story which just kept going on and on and on getting bigger each time, without getting boring. The way each element kept on surprising stretching the boundary's or what you expect.

Makes me just want a remake more and more. I'm sure you can get some kind of 3rd party version of it for the pc and i don't mean a emulator. FF7 Ultima edition or something. Need to get it again..

Aaah would love to play FFVII again, but I remember the game timer reading 78 hours when I finally beat Emerald Weapon. Just dont have the time :( :(

Still got my FF8 and FF9 PSX discs but a friend lost my FF7 PSX many moons ago and I lost my PC version :(

Have it on PSP/PS3 though \o/

That was such an epic summon! I'd like a remake of FF7 to be honest, with current average graphics. It would be interesting to see what Barret Wallace's hand's would look like!

Have to keep an eye out for this, I've never played FF9 yet I have read a couple of places that its the best of the bunch?

It's the only one in the series out of the PlayStation/3D graphics era that is a throwback to the old classic style of the Nintendo games i.e. Medieval Fantasy, so it's part nostalgia and old school fans that rate it highly. The soundtrack is wonderful as well, especially the old school intro to the battle theme. Even Nobuo Uematsu said this is one of his favourite work.

Only problems I have with IX is that I hate most of the characters so much that I find my eyes glazing over pretty much every scene, and the main plot turns ridiculous toward the end - even ridiculous for an FF game. That, and the awful, awful trance system. And Quina. Quina gets special mention.

Just finishing up playing through FFVII on PSP, then I'll get VIII and hopefully get round to completing it in time for IX.

Tend to agree for the most part...though I really couldn't get into it at all and gave up about an hour in.

I loved the original FFs..I've played through the nes/snes ones several times. Something about IX just irritated me though.

This thread made me put FFX on hold and get back into FF7 again. It's much the better game, and I don't want to strangle all of the characters in 7, which is refreshing after 10 :p
