Final Fantasy 7

Shame that no-one makes games that good anymore. And if they do please feel free to let me know (Maybe Oblivion/Skyrim are somewhere close).

I disagree, every year gaming continues to get better and better. I admit, Final Fantasy VII is one of my all time favourite games, possibly even my favourite ever made. This is only due to the personal connection I made with it as a child. The "actual" game can be downright awful in places, and hard to play. Not a difficult game per'se, just hard to pick up and actually play. For me, at least.

If you want some epic games, try these;

Fallout series, Dishonored, Elder Scrolls series, Forza series, the Uncharted trilogy, the Halo series, Max Payne series, the new Batman games, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Gears of War trilogy, Zelda series (GC & Wii), Borderlands 1 & 2, and many more are just a few examples of fantastic games that are far superior in every way to games created in the 90's. Granted most of those are not available on PC, but great games are being made all the time.

That's not even beginning to mention the vast amount of downloadable indie titles, like Super Meat Boy, Braid, Fez, Trials HD etc.

The original Fallout and Elder Scroll games came out in the 90s? Zelda and Mario, games originally made in the 80s. The original Max was very early 2000s, I'm not a huge fan of racing games and I don't think you can compare them to other genres easily. I understand what you're saying, and I'm not denying there are good games about at the moment, but I think when you look at the calibre of games in the 80s/90s, they are unquestionably better and more original than what we see today. I feel games today are made to generate money, and are normally very short lived, it's rare that I spend more than 30 hours playing a single player game, and I rarely want to play it through again.

Oblivion is probably in my top 5 games of all time though, so I'm not saying they don't make good games, I'm saying they don't make as many.
