Final Fantasy III

Yep I pre-ordered too from the same site. 7-14 days for delivery! Hope it doesn't take that long.

I think the release of FFIII is being overshadowed by FFXII. Loads of people are importing that. I can't be bothered importing it though. You have to use devices with dubious legality to play it, and I think I have enough to keep me occupied until it comes out here.

Wow FFVII: Dirge of cerberus managed to slip out without me noticing. Ordered that too.

Can't wait for this. I also have it preordered and its been shipped :D... Thing is I have about 5 new games atm from preorders and no time to playa ny of them.

I preferred Devil May Cry over this tbh.
I'm not surprised at all. I probably will too. I'm just finishing up with DMC3 and it's bloody great. I realise DoC is actually not a particularly great game. It's to be expected really, all of Square's non-RPGs tend to pretty mediocre. I just want it because I'm such a big fan of FFVII and this builds on the FFVII world and characters.

hehe with the number of games arriving at my house each week at the mo I could easily set up a renting service ;)

I hate the way they all seem to come out at the same time, then you get 6 months with nothing.. or at least all the ones I'm interested in. It's going to be even worse when the Wii comes out in 3 weeks!

Now I've got DoC, it's not really an accurate comparison with DMC. DoC is much more like an FPS than a combat game like DMC. They are very different games. Although I'm not going to deny that overall DMC is a better game. As I thought DoC has fairly mediocre game play.

Well, the wife is a FF fangirl of the highest order and she absolutely loves it - and her expectations were through the roof beforehand.....so that must be a good sign :) Also, on Gamespot.com it's got 451 player reviews so far and is averaging a 9.4

So I'd say you probably won't be disappointed!

I seem to rem the 'they say' on gamespot wasnt too amazing (7.7), oddly the remake of final fantasy 5 (8.5) for the GBA that just came out is looking good?

Just got this through this morning. Got an amazing rush of nostalgia when I first heard the music, I love the consistency... anyway, after 10 mins of play I'm liking the graphics a lot more than screens / videos show... they are lovely. The only problem is the small screen means you are often zoomed out really small making your character a pin ***** on screen.

After such a short play all I can really say is it follows the earlier games in the series beautifully, the interface, play-style etc are identical and random battles are ever fruitfull.

I did notice a Nintendo Wi-Fi booklet with the game, looks like there is online play?

Anyway, once I get time to sit down to a good game of this later I'll let you know how it plays.
