*** Final Fantasy XIII ***

I'm on Cid Raines, Help? lol, I'm using Light, Hope, Fang, it's not working

It's a good battle to test out your Paradigm shifting and tactics, especially when he has the three captions that appear above his head that will give you a clue to what he is doing.

Offensive Shift is when he is attacking, so try to use a Sentinel to absorb his attacks, and let the others attack him to build up the gauge a little i.e. Delta Attack or Solidarity.

Defensive Shift is basically his own Sentinel mode where he uses Guard to decrease damage on him, so this is a good time to attack him as much as you can to build the gauge up i.e. Relentless Assault.

Recovery Shift is where he will heal or remove status ailments off himself. Good chance to build up the gauge even more to Stagger him, so full out attack with Relentless Assault.

Should you manage to Stagger him quickly, make sure a Commando is able to Launch him in the air and time your attacks carefully so you can keep him juggled. This is easily the best way to defeat him fast.

Well I managed to get a stagger on him pretty quickly and to dealt as much damage as I can before I ended up taking more defensive roles as he became a bit harder after this. Debuffing him helps a lot as well including getting some buffs on yourself when needed with Evended Odds. You can easily take as much time as you want since star ratings for storyline boss battles don't even matter at all.

Found another collectors thingy, was in the tower, think ive done upto the 30 misson so far, was doing some grinding after level up another class for each of my ppl, picked ravager and medic, best health, which left fang with no spare cp, rest had about 100k and found the 30th misson in beside that juggernaut that was protecting the plat bangle?

Lol I tried to attempt a Juggernaught after I felt the party might be strong enough and just for some laughs and I managed to do it in 6:38 minutes when the target time is 2:31 minutes. Yeah......right!

Since I refused to do any grinding and had avoided some fights along the way, I too struggled with this guy until I put Hope as the leader and took charge of buffs and healing the party myself, he went down pretty easy, was a bit disappointed I had wasted so much time trying different combos of my seemingly underpowered guys :(

ive only just started ch11 and cant get on it today but is it possible to do all the missions in it before continuing with the story as ive never been one for continuing with a game once ive completed the story, ill play them again but once the story is over the appeal isnt there for me so id rarther grind through ch11 now then have it available after completion and never go back and complete it.

I understand grinding through may make the rest of the game easy but ill still want to complete it for the story

You also get a portal to go back in Ch13, by which time you'll be much stronger and will tear through many of the enemies that will give you grief in Ch11.

Found a nice area in Chapter 11 to farm for CP, although you need to do mission 12 first. It's in the area I've marked on the map. Once you do mission 12, lots of new monsters spawn in that area. The monsters are those little things that fight in packs and summon other monsters. They are extremely easy though, and the average time to kill must be bugged as it keeps saying 10 minutes for me but I flatten them in about 10 seconds. CP rewards are from 1,500 to 3,500 (probably not a lot for higher level people but works great for me).

those little buggers are still hard for me at the moment, i will take a look tho :) maybe when i get up to mission 12 ill be a lot stronger

Finally back from uni and am able to play the game :D
Am in the crystalised lake part now. Battle system seems simplistic so far but I can see how all the different elements will eventually come in to strategic play as the game gets harder.
I love the characters :D
And of course, the graphics are insane.

What I didn't realize at first is that if you do two attacks in one Paradigm and switch to another one the ATB bar is full and you can attack/heal straight away.

So in longer fights I go from one offensive Pardigm to another offensive one every other turn to have a full ATB bar, it can get a little hectic though.

The easiest way I found to wipe them out was using Light/Fang/Snow all in Commando and just blitzing constantly. Also yeah, by the time you reach mission 12 you'll be a lot stronger :)

Only one I don't really like is Vanille, her random "ooo", "ahh, "eee", "aww" noises really really really grate on me.

Was there yesterday stealing their treasure orbs :D

They are super easy to take out, though I still think the fastest CP spot is the one mentioned earlier on the Mah'Habra run, you can get about 45K CP in about 5mins, and by the time you've got to one end they've all respawned and can just back track and do it all again.

Very easy to get pre-empt, and Hope's Thundaga just rips them to shreds.

:D

Yeah the fact theres no MP or anything means you can turn any fight into an endurance fest if you have the patience :p

All boss battles are time limited and you will eventually get a death timer :( i hate this but its the games way of making you play 'properly' nearly had heart failure though when it came up on the final boss and i beat him with only 6.4 seconds left!!

:D

If you have vanille's death go hunting the Neochu and get the growth EGG then you get almost 9k from these guys for about 15seconds fight

That sounds nice, I'll have to go find that spot, unless it's well above my current level. That run I mentioned is 16,200 CP every 3.5 minutes for me (give or take 30 seconds due to pre-emptives) so that Mah'Habra run sounds much better :)
