Final Fantasy XIV Benchmark

Just got 3137 and 33884ms load times @ 1080.
Q9300 @2.5(stock) atm with a 5870.

I should try with my OC but i cba, seems like abit of a crap benchmark to me, graphics were ok, and no AA! Considering i can max out pretty much every game almost.

I'm still iffy about those benchmark resolutions though!
Don't think i've ever seen a 720p monitor before :p

@720 - 3850ish, spec in sig.

Still ran very smooth though, but honestly by the time this is out I will have a better system anyways.

2552 on 720. 1080 resulted in a horrible stutter every second or so, my system doesn't like windowed 3D apps partially off-screen. Resolution usually makes no difference when I'm adjusting game settings, and fullscreen should run much smoother without Win7's fancy display effects consuming precious resources.

It looks very nice indeed, I loved the special effects like the comets, water droplets and force field. If they use stuff like that for the spells it'll be epic. FFXI still has some of the best-looking spells of any MMO so it's definitely possible :D Excellent facial detail as well.

Side note, it looks like a cutscene (intro?) that's been chopped up a bit, like when it cuts off from the big guy saying "make yourself useful."

XI's engine was pretty bad. Not very efficient, and you had to edit the registry to set the resolution to anything like HD. However you could set any res you want and it filled the screen properly without stretching and it was stable, too. XI has a benchmark app of its own, which uses the exact same models & textures as the game proper. This probably follows the same lines of design.

Did anyone else have no music throughout, and intermittent sounds when the serpent jumps over the ship?

I think the movie's the intro to the game - hell of a start if you ask me. I hope the quality of the animation is like that all the way through.

1920x1080 score 2833 load time 16968 ms

Just to be different:

I got around 2800 at 1080. I can't remember the exact number because I wasn't paying close enough attention and accidentally skipped the results screen, and that's the last number I remember seeing on the graph before the movie ended.
