Playing through VII Remake now. Hopefully this one's better than XV, I'll check it out at some point for sure but I might become a console peasant for a year or so so not sure if I'll wait for the PC release:P I'll go back with a Dark Obelisk 4090 and replay:P

Hope the environments are interestesting because the character design isn't. I used to associate FF with memorable characters and locations.
Can't recall the name of a single place in 15 or 13.

Seems to have taken some of lightning returns battle system.

It's got my interest some of the visuals are stunning.

The summons/Eidolons look absolutely fantastic, some very much fan favourites in there too. Ifrit looking amazing, but good to see Shiva, Bahamut, was that Ramuh too. Odin is always amazing.

I haven't enjoyed a Final Fantasy since X, but I also haven't given then a fair shout either, going to play through them at some point this year starting from 1 again. I was a FF fan on the SNES, and seeing some references to Crystals is nice again. I'm obviously getting old, but I just want a good old turn based combat system in my Final Fantasy though.

Highly suggest the Pixel remasters on Steam, all 6 for £45 which is a bit much but should be cheaper in the xmas sales.

I have all of the original Steam re-releases, are the Pixel remasters better than those and worth the outlay? I bought them years, and years ago but haven't been truly able to sit down and game for a long time.

Like TNA for £45 it's expensive esp if you own the older versions. I'll bite around £30

Their significanlty better than the older versions that got ported from mobile. The music has been remastered, graphics redrawn for modern systems and lots of other little changes like a porper old school UI rather than that mobile one we got in 2015.

Not liked a FF game since VII original. Just loathed all the combat systems since.

8 and 9 had the same turn base combat as I recall, they just did not have the material system maybe? Been so long that I forgot. I need to replay 8 and 9 at some point. I know for a fact I only play FF 9 only on release and never since. I just remember the card game it had a bit and the main character a little. No memory of the story or side characters whatsoever. Where as FF 7 was very memorable and since played it maybe 5 times.

Looks like it's a 6 month Sony exclusive but if we go by FF7 remake if they release new content/DLC they might renew for another 6 months.

Yea, can’t see it coming to PC for at least 12 months. Just hope we get the complete game when it does. That said I am not a huge fan of dlc’s, they usually are not must play items. Like the Yuffie dlc was nice, but must play imo.
