Hi,

After much thought and many many good recommendations from you guys, i've finally arrived at the specs I want for my new £1000 gaming rig :

Intel Core i5 4670k

Gigabyte G1.SNIPER Z87

Teamgroup Vulcan 8GB 2400MHz

Gigabyte Radeon R290 OC Windforce 4GB

WD 1TB blue

Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD

Samsung DVD Re-Writer 24x

Corsair 300R

Corsair Builder Series 600w


Any suggestions for any changes i should make ???

I plan to overclock this cpu so can someone please recommend me a decent CPU cooler for this guy.

Also, what accessories do i need to build this rig... Like fans, thermal paste, wires etc....
 
I'd drop the WD blue in favour of a similar priced 3TB drive, in real world you wont see much difference but plenty more room for videos games and what not.

Most coolers come with paste on them but that only gives you a single hit, i think 8pack did a mega thread comparing all the pastes available worth a look for the bang/buck ratio.

Hi gav, the WD blue 1 TB is about 50 bucks. You saying i can get a 3 TB one for similair price ?? If you got one in mind please let me know mate ...

Do i need any other stuff like sata cables or do they come with the HDD/SDD ?

i have the same case and you will need to buy sata cables, i use these, long enough and flexible + slim and they lock on :D

as for case fans, i use 2x120mm bitfenix spectre red leds in the front, 1x120mm bitfenix spectre black no led in the side, dont use 2 because of the cables coming out of the gfx card are right where the fan goes and they arnt very flexible but i would have 2 if i could

Cheers bro for the heads up on the Sata data cables. Ill check if they are supplied with the motherboard if not then ill add them

yeah I was gonna go with the MSI then I found out that their warranty aint so good as you have to deal with a below par aftersales service.

The gigabyte windforce has been tweaked for noise and cooling( which I heard was a problem with the 290) so I thought even though its a few more quid i'd be happier with this card :)
