Hi Guys,
New here to posting, even though Ive been reading the forums for a long time. This is quite a lengthy post, so please bear with me.
So, I purchased an iphone 4 in the states on the launch date, as I have a contract there. I also live in the UK, when I got to the UK, I was having issues with the proximity, so took it to apple, who replaced it and told me it would be unlocked and could use it with my 02 sim card too. This was false however, and after updating to 4.1 realised this, as after activiating with my AT&T sim, I tried to put my o2 sim in, and it wouldnt let me as it was locked to AT&T. So went back today, and got another replacement due to their false information, so I could gte one with 4.0.1 on to jailbreak. They activated in store for me, with my O2 sim card inside, so my phone is currently working on o2. So I jailbreaked it instantly, to use it on AT&T also. However, since doing this, I cant access the net on my phone. So...here are my questions that Im hoping some of you can help with
1. I want to unjailbreak my phone first of all, to see if I can get the internet working again. How would I do this, still enabling me to use my o2 sim, but also keep the 4.0.1, so I can jailbreak again after this.
2. The last sync and back up of my phone, was just this morning before I took my phone back to replace. This sync and back up, were both with 4.1 installed. If I were to restore from back up, would it update it to 4.1?
3. After I unjailbreak it and check the settings, I want to jailbreak it again. I have never jailbreaked before so...What steps do I need to take to make sure everything run smoothes in the future. So, what steps should I take, that, just incase I update accdiently, I can downgrade the software again to jailbreak. Someone once said something about SHSH or something?? and that I would need to save these?
I just want to make sure I do everything right.
Also, since getting my iphoen this morning, I havent plugged my iphone in to itunes, because, due to o2 not connecting to the internet, I called them, and they want me to restore the phone....Which I ned to do, but I dont want it to update, or not let me use my o2 sim in it anymore...so I need to restore to 4.0.1, how do I do this? As if I try and resotre, it will want me to update no?
