Any other comments or suggestions. Should I go ahead and buy? BTW someone mentioned not to buy the Raptor, any reason for this, as I've heard nothing but good things about the raptor drives.

Thanks in advance ;-)

The reason people normally suggest not getting a Raptor is that you are paying a lot of money for not a huge increase in speed, they are good drives but there are plenty of others that are close in speed but cost significantly less and offer more space.

You can also save about £100 and double your Ram. :)

Sticking with the Asus cooler just cos I prefer the look of it and only slightly more expensive (plus the orange colour goes with the fans ;-) and gone for the ASUS dvd+rw cos it's got lightscrib as well for simular price. Doubled my memory to 4gb too

Any other suggestions before I submit my order?

Id say the post made by semi-pro wasters pretty much perfect (subject to preferances in case etc though).

Might have dropped to 2gb of ram though, switched to a p182 and used the savings to get a gtx.

Online gaming (Battlefield 2 ) music production

Wouldnt you want a dedicated sound card then ? mb a creative card.

Reason I've gone for the 1066MHz ram is my friend said it could be the bottleneck in my system if I go for slower ram

Not to put too fine a point on it, your friend is talking mince or at the very least hasn't defined his point clearly. The FSB and Ram speed do not match in that way, although the FSB is 1066mhz the CPU is in effect 'quad-pumped' (my term) so you actually only need Ram running at 266.5mhz (PC4200 speeds) for it to work at the most basic level i.e. 4x 266.5=1066mhz.

I'm certainly not recommending buying PC4200 with a good CPU but good PC5300 (like Crucial Ballistix PC5300), pretty much any PC6400 or the cheap OcUK PC8500 is more than sufficient, unless you are seriously overclocking the OCZ will be wasted. :)
