What about this setup guys, would this work?

why would you want a bayres? there ugly, they make bleeding the loop a pain and a pump res combo would make a lot more sence, ill also add the ek 2.2 pump is more than enough for a cpu loop
 
Hmm this is interesting.

If the DCP 2.2 combo pump / res is enough for the CPU and possibly a GPU in the future that would interest me more.

I hear the DCP 4.0 pumps are bad for noise levels and vibration etc.
 
the 2.2 can run a cpu gpu and 2 rads fine but a ddc/d5 would maybe be better.

Ive not seen any graphs so far to show the limits of the 2.2 tbh but id be inclined to say it will be fine. Infact i remember someone with a d5 and tried it on every setting from 1-5 and it made no difference to temps only noise so id say a 2.2 would be fine.
The thing to remember is to mount the pump on somthing otherwise the 4k+rpm of the pump will make big noises regardles of what pump you use
 
If I go for the DCP 2.2 I would probably mount it in the HDD bay so as to make the loop more tidy. I could use the dampening foam on the bottom of the bay, surely that would be enough to deaden the noise and vibrations?

Yeah, it makes a massive difference, i use some foam on mine, i did have sticky velcro that worked just aswell but i need to get some more as it helps the pump in place at the same time of making it quiet.

Im going to stand by my point of bayres being a bad idea, in all honesty they only add headache to the process of watercooling unless the pump is built into them (and most of the bayres combos are crap)
 
koolance do some nice swivel fittings and mutli swivel ones as in you can twist them in 2 directions if you are tight on angles

ek 4.0 pump isn't so much noisy in and of itself but it does vibrate like a **** so if you do get one get a gel pad to sit it on and I find mine is ok like that.

Otherwise the 2.2 is fine for a cpu only loop and probably more :) but I've only used Laing DDC's, XSPC 750, EK4.0 and D5's in my builds
