Plan to buy this little lot for a brand new system at the back end of next month.

Have a Scythe Ninja Rev B and a hard drive so they aren't needed

Looking to push the CPU to atleast 3Ghz maybe a little more. Will this do the job?

Thanks.

Looks good to me only thing i would consider changing would be that Memory. You dont need 8500 rated Memory.

Either get this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-019-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=813

That will take your Quad all the way up to 3.6GHz.

If your wanting to go higher then these will be good:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-088-CR&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=144

They clock very well and are known to do 1000MHZ+ very easily.

I would personally change that cooler, its a good cooler im not disputing that but im not a fan of the clip on ones. Especially since the Ninja is quite a beefy CPU Cooler.

Thanks for the advice Stickroad. The reason I selected the faster RAM is that it would be something I wouldn't need to upgrade next time I do a big upgrade, or is that a pointless idea?

Will DDR3 be a lot cheaper by the time I need faster RAM?

Edit: I already have 2GB of G Skill 5300 ram, but OcUK don't sell it any more so would it be worth saving abit more money and buying another 2GB of the same stuff from elsewhere?

667MHz is by no means slow especially when you have the ability to overclock the Memory to 8500 rated speeds anyway.
