well this will be used to mainly play FM2008, a few other games and multiple other things at once, i.e watch a video, have 5-8 tabs of firefox open etc etc.

and needs to be as future proof as possible, due to being at least 2 years till next significant upgrade.

Will be running on XP 32 Bit initially with an upgrade to vista 64 in the future.

my budget is max £600 so this all just about comes in to it :p

spec as below.

anything you would do different ?

Get a SATA DVD drive. PATA (IDE) has gone out of style.

I switch the RAM to the OCZ OcUK has on sale. No reason to pay more.

What made you select that mobo? Will you be overclocking?

goddamn

yes i will be overclocking, is that mobo no good ? reading reviews it seems ok ? not expecting to get 3.6GHZ or anything but was hoping for maybe 3.2ghz or so ?

cheaper 880 GT, ok thats easy solvable :p not worht the extra then i guess. and damn i didnt even realise they did sata DVD drives now lol, been that long since i built this rig :p

ok i know how to overclock although its been awhile, my first go at it was a XP1700 which was overclocked to 2 GHZ, the one i have now is overclocked by 600 mhz but i cant even remember what it is lol.

In terms of GPU I have been known to dabble in that all the way back to my GF 400 mx days so I will do that :p

anyway changed the spec as per suggestions what you think ?

EDIt actually thats saved me almost enough to go for 4*1GB of that memory would it be worth it bearing in mind XP32 then Vista 64 6-12 months down the line ? will it hamper the Overclocking etc ?

Looks better. With the money you saved you can step up to a Tuniq Tower like the one on sale this week, or perhaps swap to a Seagate 7200.11 500 GB hard disk.

BTW, is that fan for the case?

BTW, is that fan for the case?

yes as it comes with an exhaust but not a intake ?

hmm will take a peak at that cooler and if it fits, i dont need a bigger HD, i have asata 1 drive 160 GB here i will use as a secondary and a 320 GB external :)

so TBH even the 400 GB will probably be overkill, but seemed like a good price :p

Very well. :)

The reason I asked about the fan was to be sure you didn't intend on pairing it with the CPU cooler. The Freezer doesn't accept fans that large, though the Tuniq does.
