Hello!

I've seen hundreds of these posts about specification checks so I know you must all be very bored with reading them! Although I really do need mine checked! :D

I have accumilated a few parts already, there'll be a list to follow, but for now I will list what parts I'd like and whether they are all compatible with one another. Also whether any need to be changed!

The computer will be for gaming, a high end system that will run the latest PC games for years to come and the current ones now at a very high specification!
Now my budget is around £1500 even more if needed, but I'd like to show you what I'd want for my gaming machine!

Now I already have;

Gigabyte Z68X-UD5-B3 Motherboard
Antec 1200 Gaming case
2 x Samsung Blu-ray/DVD Writers
Steelseries Siberias V2 Headset

Now for the components I'd like you guys to give me feedback on and make any amendments that may be needed!

Intel i5 2500K Processor
Gigabyte HD7970 3072MB GFX card
16GB's of Low-profile Vengeance RAM 1600MHz
Crucial M4 128GB SSD (For boot drive)
Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB (for storage/games/etc)
Noctua NH-D14 (For cpu overclocking purposes)
Creative sound blaster X-FI Fatality professional series sound card
Corsair AX850W Power Supply
Razer Deathadder (have one already and it's awesome but falling apart)
And.. Windows 7

Now I have a couple of components/peripherals that I need some advice on..

I need a new monitor because this TFT is ancient and only 17 inches, it's resolution is appauling and so I need a new one if I'm going to be gaming, as well as this I also need a new keyboard. Here are two of my own suggestions, perhaps someone could help me out a little? I want to have a resolution of atleast 1920x1080, this is atleast! I have never played a game at that resolution so I'm presuming it's amazing enough! Also I'd like the monitors size to be around 27-30 inches.

Samsung S27A550H 27" Widescreen Ultra Thin LED Monitor - Glossy Black

I love the look of this monitor, and there are some good reviews about it, but I'm still unsure! I love the Dell monitors as well! Oh and I forgot to mention I'm willing to spend around £300-400 on a decent monitor with a good warranty! Please help!

Now looking at the other part..

I need a new gaming keyboard, no macro keys, mechanical please, I've seen many that look tasty but I can't get my head around which one I'd like! At the moment I have an old logitech! Yay! :-/

Since I have a blue LED case and blue lit mouse I'd like a blue lit keyboard! I really haven't looked into keyboards yet so if you guys could help me, that would be great! Not really a budget for the keyboard.. so picky picky have fun time!

A few more queries..

Do I need any extra cables? For the PSU or anything?
The Antec 1200 came with no side panel fan, but there is a spot for one! Can someone recommend a blue LED 120MM side panel fan for me? :D

Many thanks guys, please do help me with suggestions and feedback, I really do need some help! WILL THIS ALL WORK? :D

Your spec is fine but be aware that there will be no difference between 8 and 16GB of RAM when gaming.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Benq XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red **IN STOCK** £269.99
1 x Steelseries 7G Gaming Mechanical Keyboard (64018) £99.98
Total : £381.97 (includes shipping : £10.00).

Being an avid gamer myself, and having gamed on many monitors I highly recommend you buy a 120HZ monitor. The difference between 60 and 120 is astounding. 24inches is more than enough for gaming in my opinion.

If you want a Mechanical Keyboard without macro keys, the 7G above or the cheaper 6Gv2 are both excellent products. I have the 7G which is reminiscent of a standard black no name keyboard, but with an extremely high level of build quality. If you want a Mechanical, you already know the advantages and at this point I would never go back to standard one. The hand rest with the 7G is the best I've ever felt too, can game on it for hours without even the slightest pain in my wrists.

Just noticed you're using a 17inch monitor... 24 might not seem like much but trust me the 7 inch difference will blow your head off. You won't stop smiling for a week.

Thanks for your input dude.

I've looked at both the components you suggested to me and the benq monitor looks brilliant, your right about how much of a difference it would make because of the 24" screen but I'm still siding towards something larger, I want to play blu-rays as well and I love a big screen to do so. Is the monitor you suggested the new benq?

The one that was not long just released? And are there any other brands that do 120HZ monitors? I know it sounds cheeky asking when I should really look myself but I can't make a decision, theres too many amazing components!

That keyboard does look brilliant, I think i'll keep my eye on one of those! Something solid with fast response and a good hand rest, perfect for gaming! Although I've also been looking into the Mionix Zibal 60 keyboard, if only it lit up blue! :( You get such a huge choice of components on OCuK that you don't know what to buy lol!

With the RAM, I know it's going to be overkill, but I thought while the ones I have been looking at are fairly cheap, I might as well purchase them at that price now.

Once again fella, thanks for your help!
