I'm looking for a system that can play demanding games at high/max resolution at 1080p(won't go any higher)

Also how do you think it stacks up to new upcoming games like skyrim,Battlefield 3 and The old republic.

Thanks

Good card, especially for the price, but I would opt for more VRAM, especially for games like skyrim.

Get a Samsung F3 / Seagate 7200.12 instead of a Caviar Black, and use the money for a 2GB 560ti, or a 6950 2GB.

The PSU is very good for single GPUs.

Motherboard is solid.

I would buy the components separately instead of a bundle if it is significantly cheaper (I am guessing £30).

The case is an oldie but goodie. I am getting a Carbide 500R. 400R is also good. You can also get a Raven RV03 around that budget.

Thanks for the reply, I'll check out the other harddrives as i was recommend a caviar black by a friend, and I'm getting a bundle because some components come already fitted like the cpu and since this will be my 1st build, I don't wanna break anything.

I'll check out V cards aswell, Thanks for reply.

the caviar black is good, but expensive, and not that much more performance over a F3. OcUK does a bundle with the 7200.12 and win 7, so you save around £10. You won't see much difference.

Cooler can be replaced by A50. Note that A50 has a 3-pin fan, and the motherboard doesn't do voltage control on the fan. The A50 fan however can be set to low or high fan speed (think they use a resistor to reduce the fan voltage). I prefer PWM fans. The MUX is out of stock, but the Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet is similar in performance. The MUX-120 black looks great though, and has great build quality.

hard drives.

I've added a 750W for potential SLI.

some build a computer tutorial.

It's your call :)

I'll get the deal on the harddrive since the difference isn't that great between the 2 drives and also what does that mean about the cpu cooler does that mean I can't use one?

With 4-pin fans, the speed of the fan is controlled by the bios using pulse-width-modulation (PWM), ramping up the speed as the CPU temps goes up, and down again when the CPU becomes idle.

Some motherboard can also control 3-pin fans similarly, that usually involves the bios changing directly the voltage supplied to the fan, so the fan speed goes up and down.

Some motherboard can only supply the full 12V to three pin fans, meaning the fan will always be on at full speed.

The A50 however has a setting to select the fan speed to either full speed, or 1/2 speed, using an adapter. Noctua fans are similar. Three pin fans are just not as controllable as 4 pin fans on that motherboard. You can still use them.

Note that the ASUS bios has some tools to map the fan speed depending on the CPU temps. It's like an automated fan controller, but works best with 4 pins fans only. A three pin fan will not be controlled that way and will always be at full speed. MSIs I believe can do either PWM or voltage-controlled.

Personally, I would. I don't really understand why Corsair went with a 3-pin CPU fan, except maybe going on the cheap. Might as well use the motherboard feature, which gives you complete control over the balance between performance and noise.

In that price range, you have the Gelid Tranquillo, The MUX-120, the Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet, Hyper 212+... Those would be my recommendations. I have the MUX, and the build quality is impressive. They all perform in the same ballpark. MUX and Zalman maybe edging it a bit.
