just wanna see what you guys think before i order this setup. For the HDDs - i have in this system just now a 250gb sata1 HDD that im going to keep and use as storage due to its speed. Im thinking of buying:

2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (using these 2 in raid0 for O/S, apps and non important stuff i dont care about)

1x Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB 5000AAKS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
(backup storage)

so ill ive 2 320gb drives in raid 0, and 2 drives for storage only, 1 being 500gb and the other being 250gb. Those backup drives will just be standalone and no raid for them.

Any comments? e.g 'your wasting your money you fool' 'you dont need 2x 320gb drives in raid 0' etc

Nothing wrong with a pair of 320s in RAID0, that's what I have.

If you need that amount of space and are happy with the implications of RAID0 (which it seems you are) then you've picked probably the best mix of disks you can. The WD AAKS drive is as quick as you can get but is only available as a 500Gb model at the moment so 7200.10s are the best bet for the RAID0 pair.
