Right, finally come to a dicision on upgrade, list below. If anyone has any suggestions then please say now as will prob order later today :)

Lian-Li PC V1000 PLUS
DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT
HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1900 XT ICEQ 3 SILENT
Pioneer DVR-111BK 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Lian-Li TR-3A
Akasa AK-183-L2B Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan x2

Rest of spec as in sig is:

3700+
AKASA EVO33
Corsair 2GB XMS3200c2pt
Seasonic S12 600w
X-Fi Xtreme

Any comments, should be good seup me thinks! :D
 
My only concern would be going for top of the line SLI board whilst going for an ATI GPU (i.e. you wouldn't be able to crossfire). Having said that i believe there are unofficial hacks about but i don't know much about it.

better cpu will come, but this little lot is costing me enough, meantime like benjo said, its pretty fine for now :D

Ive just purchased a DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT (managed to find one really cheap) and a x1800XT (from OCUK). Ive already received my GFX and board will be here tomorrow.

I cant wait. Should be a nice upgrade from my AGP 9800pro system!

Ive been looking at a few pics of our motherboard - it requires 4 power inputs!

I plan to ugrade my CPU too (3000+ :( ) Im going to wait untill conroe is released so there should be a lot of opterons on the market. For the minute though I just clock the CPU like mad!

IMO at this time conroe is overkill, games will run more then fine on his system.

Going conroe would mean a more expensive board, more expensive chip + DDR2.
 
Yeah believe me i was tempted by conroe, but kinda like Ice says, would be an overkill for me now and no matter what you do there is always something better as soon as you get round to upgrading, always will be.

My 3700+ is one of the good clockers, already had it to 2.5. Hopefully with the DFI i will be able to have some more fun with it :D
 
4 power points? wow will check it out, would have thought my psu will be fine though :cool:
