4x AA 1920x1200 w/ DX10 running smoothly?

Specs? ;)

I certainly don't have the grunt to run it at those settings, but got round to finishing it a few weeks ago. Even at the high, and later on med-high settings I managed, it did look amazing, and despite all the naysaying, I loved the gameplay. I even enjoyed the slower paced parts in the temple, and had no problems fighting the aliens, certainly more enjoyable than those *bleep*ing trigens in Far Cry. Great game, just wish I could see it at full tilt.

I think most of the empty winge about it gets countered with the few constructive comments you get from fans that put some imagination into the game. Certainly something I'll play through again when I get some new hardware.

Yeah, you running an HD4870X2 presumably Shep_Cobain? I just completed it again yesterday and it was playable at those settings but I had to drop the settings for the final boss battle, and even then the game kept pausing and stuttering. It's mental.

I played through it for the second time recently and while the last third is nowhere near as good as the first part, I think its the best shooter thats been out for a long time. Loved the sneaking around in the nanosuit and the way you can approach things in different ways. I think it gets a bad rap just because people can't run it maxed on their current hardware.

I'm with Huddy on this one, the more I played Crysis and then went back to COD4 the more I realised it isn't really all that great once you get over the flashy graphics. Gameplay is pretty basic compared to COD4 imo.

Correction, the whole game is.

I liked some of the touches, like the first time a giant squiddy comes and you see it from miles away. Sadly, this is instantly countered by the awful flying sequence that follows.

I also liked the first section up to getting the scientist lady out of the school part.

The rest was meh to crap.

Funny, i thought exactly the opposite! I was die hard COD4 when I had my 7600GS + 5000 X2 as the same playable settings for both games resulted in COD4 playing much smoother and frankly looked loads better. Crysis on all low is truely terrible and it was still slow as a dog. Didn't bother playing further than the first couple of levels.

Then i got my 8800GT + Q6600 which let me run Crysis at much nicer settings. With the help of custom configs and DX9 it came to life a little more, but the gameplay was still rubbish IMO.

Then i completed it on Delta. And what a whole new game it becomes. I wish i'de waited till my second 8800GT arrived as it would have made the whole experience even better. Because you can enter situations and remove yourself from them, I found it gives the enemy time to react, regroup, etc. Good stuff!

I think what spoilt the experience for me was the number of bugs and errors. I don't think I've actually played a game with so many. I thought SC:DA was bad.

System crashes are one thing, but when you can't progress is another.

^This is what began to ruin STALKER for me, there were certain parts that I couldn't do or had to do again due to gameplay bugs.

I liked Crysis, it had the best visuals I've ever seen. The story was fine for me, except until it got to the 3-D floaty bit. That totally killed it. Then everything else was just lame. "Keep the guy warm."...ok...

I enjoyed Crysis. A good game with great graphics. However, the gameplay was merely good as it had some dull bits. The biosuit with its powers was a great idea but I barely used it to its fullest. I do agree with Greenlizard0 as that floating bit was far too long and rather dull. I didn't mind the keeping warm bit tho'.

Thought it was a great game. Just a shame that the later stages were so buggy. I suffered with the TAC Cannon issues, falling thru the carrier floor, stuttering cutscenes etc. Very frustrating at such a critical stage in the game, but its not enough to warrant the slagging off it gets from the haters.

Gameplay is pretty basic compared to COD4 imo.

Sorry cant agree with that. CoD4 is action packed, but the gameplay doesnt get much more basic, just point and shoot. Its very linear, so no tactics required at all. Fun to play through once though I'll admit, but Crysis has more replay value. Gameplay is far more dynamic.

Single or multi player ?

Remember to add the -dx9 startup command, makes Warhead loads faster and doesn't limit your graphics choices.
