Finally completed Crysis...

i gave up on crysis at the vtol mission, i just kept crashing and couldnt control it, frustrated me so much ive never played the game since.

It's a good game, better than average but not great. I thought that though the story was pretty awful and the 'level design' wasn't great, it seemed like though the world was open there wasn't much point to it (but I'm all for an open world if it's done well).

I enjoyed playing Warhead more than the original, though, and I was able to turn all the graphics settings to maximum at 1680x1050 so that helped (I played the original on an 8800gts 512 and warhead on a 4870x2).

Right click / New / Shortcut

When it comes up with it's little box navigate to the Warhead.exe and select, it should then have in the box "C:\programfiles(x86)\electronicarts\Warhead.exe" or similar.. After the last " simply put -dx9

So in the box it will now read:

"C:\programfiles(x86)\electronicarts\Warhead.exe" -dx9

Click next to name your shortcut, usually WarheadDX9 or something, and you're done :) Now when you click that shortcut it will boot up the game in dx9.

Or in Steam:

Right click the game >> Properties >> Startup Commands >> -dx9 >> Apply

Job done :)

The game wont let me finish a level, waiting for the helicopter, I have to kill the enemies in the surrounding area, they turned up the first time but now they dont even turn up

yeah i had it and needed to delete the save game from windows and then load the game, as it would crash trying to load any game

Dunno, i can't really remember the ending ??? it was so slow and chugging with all the monsters and uber boss at 1920x1200 in dx10 with no AA. It was terrible.

Crysis is for next gen for sure.

The cut scenes in Warhead was even worst! Ill have to play the game again next year hopefully.

Wow WTF I can't believe someone said Crysis's gameplay was "basic" compared to COD4    You are smoking some quality stuff there squire.

COD4 is a great game, but as someone already mentioned, it doesn't get much more basic - just point and shoot, and move along.

COD4 attempted originality and did it with style with the aeroplane mission and the sniper mission - these dont fit into that description.

the main of the game was hide and shoot i agree but Crysis was dull and had crap vehicles too - COD4 was captivatnig from start to finish and introduced characters the player gave a **** about.

Sorry for double post but I agree, COD is a brillaint game but it is certainly basic in terms of FPS conventions.

I loved Crysis in the same way I loved the original Halo, loved the story, great graphics and varied gameplay, the thing that ruined it for me was the copy and paste korean bits, i found the floaty levels and after much better than the before (cept for the first part of the first level, dark=good)
