Regarding the marathon, I'm sure it would be great for you to build up to it, but at 19st you're probably more likely to cause damage to your joints.

Well its self-evident that a marathon has to be built up to! Even for a healthy fit person that is the case.

Nothing wrong with running at 19stone. Same principals apply whatever your weight. you have to make a steady progression form your current fitness level. If you are heavier then your initial level will entail shorter and slower runs, as you loose weight you will naturally be able to run father and faster. It is all very self-balancing.

just so you are aware i have no intention of running an actual 5K let alone a marathon currently, i am using c25k but i keep getting really bad leg cramp, i am going back to MMA this week after having a couple of weeks of due to a combination of going away for our anniversary and being ill.
