Finally done my own loop!

Does it ever end? Just bought an aquacomputer flow meter. Will probably end up buying an ek dual d5 top and 2 aquacomputer D5 pumps in the new year so I can get a decent flow rate with minimum noise.

I push 1gpm at 90% power on my ek d5, based on PSI loss calculations.

It's certainly not ended for me yet although I hope to slow it down a bit as it's damn expensive.

I got one of the EK dual D5 tops a couple of months back for the redundancy and it's great. I have both pumps set on 3 so it's very quiet and am getting 280 lpm according to my flow meter. For comparison my loop is CPU, GPU, 360 rad, 280 rad & a 240 rad.

Nice!

What rads (make, model) are you using? What flow meter are you using?

My loop is similar but with 3x 360mm rads.

Some of your water cooling setups sound pretty heavy duty...I'd love to see some pics!

I'm going to add a little valve as a drain port and I've also ordered a splitter and one of these!

I have software running to keep an eye on the temps but an actual physical thermometer will give me quick glance reassurance my bits aren't going to melt!

Here's mine, please excuse the rubbish picture as it's taken through the perspex window.

Nice!

Hard tubing?

I can't figure out how your pump is attached to your res, is it? Are you cooling your mobo? I can see where its going in but not out!!!

So many questions!

Corsair 780t case? I love that case but it's a bit too big for my area!

Is that an EVGA power connector wrapped around the GFX? I wonder if that would fit a TXP ...

Lovely looking, I did consider white and black but bottled it in case it discoloured but yours looks amazing!

Soft tubing, I've thought about trying hard tubing but I change my loop so often it'd be a pain to keep bending new tubing. I also like the look of the way you get nice sweeping curves with soft tubing.

The pump is actually 2 D5 pumps using a EK dual pump/res that comes with its own bracket to connect to 120 or 240mm fans.

The motherboard is watercooled, the loop flows as follows.. pump/res>bottom rad>gpu>top rad>motherboard>cpu>front rad>pump/res.

Yes it's a EVGA powerlink, they are adjustable so can fit a range of cards.

I am pretty happy with it how my PC is but am always thinking about what to change, it's the curse of the watercooler ;)

How did you go about calibrating the flow sensor? It's not mechanical and I understand it can be tricky to set up.

Are you using EK G2 D5 pumps?

Setting up the flow sensor is easy, it does auto calibrate but you can set it manually as well by stopping the pump to give it a base reading. I've got 3 of them 2x 200 and 1x 400 and they all work fine.

One of the pumps is EK, the other is an older nonbranded one but both are manual 5 speed versions as I prefer that to either PWM or Aquabus connections.

Well changed a couple of bits but I've been stopped dead in my tracks.

Firstly the pump seemed to randomly stop working so I've taken it apart. Got it working, didn't do anything other than clean it up. Seems I've got an earlier 3.1 which aren't 100% reliable so have ordered the new variant.

I then got a leak on a ek splitter which was a nightmare to clean up

Just waiting on a couple of spare space how so I can put it all back together.

Argh!!

I also have no finger prints left, can't login on my iPhone using my finger!

I've had to drain it now about 6 times!! I'm building in drain and fill ports now as well

So - the bug had bitten me - hard. I've decided to spend more money than sense and upgrade my new ITX rig to an mATX rig, losing the NZXT case and moving to a Parvum S2.5 Extended.

As a result I've got a bigger pump, a new 360mm Rad and some more fittings. Sadly I won't get the case until after Christmas but I'm going to do a build log.

What have I done!!!

I told you watercooling was addictive ;)
