Finally got a bargain...... But there are some worries

The fact you have to replace all the tyres straight away and the brakes need doing as well makes this even less of a bargain (if it even was in the first place)

You are basically now talking just an extra £1000 to get a non-cat d facelift ST (presuming you found one with decent rubber with life left and brakes that didnt need doing straight away)

Well it's here. Rubber is ok dunlops all round and plenty of tread. Brand new disks and pads on it so no need to look at them.

Just filled it for £64 with super so that's not too bad either.

There was 15 miles left in the tank.

Give him some time, he needs to photoshop the front of the car back into a straight shape first... :p

Or at least photoshop new discs and new dunlops all round :p

i find it amusing that it went from having cheap rubber all round and brakes that needed doing, to premium tyres with plenty of tread and brand new discs and pads all round :p

I may be wrong and his mate might have genuinely done £700 worth of work to the car though before he picked it up!

I've been busy, and my licence on photoshop has ended!

Ill get on it tomorrow.

Ill be honest it's taking a bit of getting used to driving!

I can't load that video,

I find the suspension very hard compared with my tiguan, no surprises there and I can feel every bump and groove in the road.

Also got to be very gentle on the loud peddle round town! I'm speeding before I realise it.

Nothing major, but keep forgetting to put the key back in my pocket BEFORE getting into the car!

Loads of haters in this thread. OP is doing well not taking the bait. I hope it works out for you. And where are the pics?!

Haters? Lol, I didn't realise we were in school here.

OP bought a car that was overpriced for what it was, will be difficult to sell on, could have hidden safety issues, doesn't seem to have been repaired to a decent standard (missing wheel nuts, cheap tyres) and he's now backpeddaling on the tyres and brakes which will negate any savings he made buying a catd

Plenty people spent time explaining why it was a bad choice and finding better alternatives for him - what's the point asking for advice and having a jumbo thread about it to then ignore it?

here you go. it's raining so please excuse the photos.

i concentrated on the damaged side so you can all have a good moan on the pannel alignment.... dont forget to get your rulers out!
