Hey, bought the Premium 360 on Friday. Got it with 4 games (GoW, RB6Vegas, Dead Rising and Fight Night 3) - also bought a recharge kit. £310.

First impressions...

Seems well built, it's not getting too hot. It's been on a fair bit since Friday and no problems yet. I'm impressed with the dashboard and simplicity of the different menu's - pretty easy to navigate. I'm liking Xbox Live, good selection of demo's - not sure how often they get updated?

I've not played all the games properly so far, but Dead Rising isn't that great... seem's all the same after about 20mins and find myself turning it off each time I die.

Fight Night 3 has great graphics and is good fun when playin against other people.

RB6 Vegas is the best game I've played so far, but I haven't played GoW yet, RB6V split screen on co-op is quality :D

BUT

Even though it's a bit more enjoyable than PC gaming, I haven't noticed a great deal that has made me say "wow, that couldn't of been done on a PC..." - I'll give it time though, I've just added some mates to my Xbox Live so I'll see if that makes it a bit more fun.

Cool glad your enjoying it, everyone comes on here asks ohhh should I get one? But I'm sure now whenever someone does you'll be in there supporting it!

Co-op on vegas is good, but GoW also has very good co-op but I mostly play Vegas online. You should add yourself to the OcUK gamertag list as well which is floating around the forum somewhere.

We tend to get new demos every 3 weeks or so, depending on the time of year. What with E3 soon we'll probably get quite a few. Videos are more frequent atleast a couple a week.

You are unlikely to see gfx that can match a top end pc because the pc hardware is more powerful than 360 and PS3 but i am pleased with the look of a lot of the games available and as a big pc gamer before xbox360 i dont want to use my pc for gaming now i much prefer 360 , xbox live is exellent with people on your friends list even though i havent played much on there since changing my gamertag and the achievement system is good in my opinion because instead of putting a game down i will try to plug away until i get the achievements which i wouldnt have done with the same game on my pc .

Glad you are liking it. I know what you mean about it not being super powerful but it's a console. For me the simplicity of it all is the wow factor. You can't get that on PC.

I had mine for a week before I sold it.
I played R6V first and ended up getting frustrated with the aiming.
I stuck GOW in and turned it off after about 20min. Duck and cover is too boring.
Took it back and got a PS3, which I don't use much. Think i'll wait until UT3 comes out and try that. If it doesn't live up to the hype its going on Ebay, and i'll be back to PC gaming.

Excellent system, brilliant online, loads of fun games.
Has made me a happy bunny in this last month I got it.
Put the fun back in gaming for me, and actually completed a game for the first time in YEARS.

Started yesterday briefly on The darkness. I'm a PC FPS player mostly and the controls do get some getting used to, but I enjoy it for what it is, a Console shooter.

As for the above mentioned UT3 - only one platform the UT franchise belong to, and that would be the PC. Decided that most upcoming cross-platform titles, will be played on my 360 though.

I agree, it's better built than people give it credit for. AS for Demo's, they get updated often enough, next week will be brilliant because of e3. It's updated a lot more than PSN that's a fact.

Believe me, it's not. Dead Rising is probably the most consistently brilliant game throughout I've played in years purely because there is so much to do. It's known for having probably the steepest learning curve of any Xbox360 game out there, stick with it, after Level 20 it's so rewarding!

Aye, top notch game, I can't wait for FNR4.

Glad you are enjoying it, brilliant game and frustratingly difficuly (but excellent) in Realistic mode.

A lot of it could be done on a PC (except the Swarm engine of Dead Rising), it's the cost of doing it on the PC. And how much more comfortable it is to sit there, leaning right back and chilling with a controller. Xbox Live is better than scouring the Internet for the quickest, free, download site and then tweaking the settings of your games.

Don't like tactical shooters then? It's a shame as they are great games.
As for getting used to sticks, people seem to think they are born with the gift to use them straight away, it takes time but it's so rewarding.

Consoles don't generally do that.

Used to be a hardcore pc gamer myself a few years ago - alwasy upgrading etc. I got sick of all the crud that comes with pc gaming - updating, configuring, installing, more configuring - i got bored of it when all i wanted to do was play games. Anyway, with the 360 i can just it on, get comfy on my hooooge leather chair and play. Personally, i don't think the 360 is that far off graphically to the pc.

Yep, took me a while to get used to them and as a result i stayed away from FPS style games when i bought the 360. I even sold king kong after a day as i couldn't aim at all and found it too hard. One day it just clicked and i found the sticks had become second nature. I actually prefer using a pad nowadays.

I assume he's talking about Crysis, but even then thats the exception to the rul, they're still pretty close, and Crysis will probably end up on 360 anyway.

Well come September it will be. :p

Like i said earlier i was a pc gamer and if you have a top end pc then the best games on pc look great but in order to keep playing the games maxed out you have to upgrade .

Quite a nice trade off given the goodies with PC games and the graphics.

In fairness the Xbox360 will be 2 years old.
Which is great given what it can output, but still the G80 is barely a year old iirc.
Also the first killer looking game on 360 was around when killer looking UT3/Crysis footage was out.

Not really close.
