Finally, my first car :)

Top quality :D :P I'll probably take them off tomorrow and see how it looks.

I drove a 95 1.8 LS Cavalier for some time and thoroughly enjoyed it! Very smooth ride. Had massive body roll, but I think that's what made it all the more fun - like riding a motorbike! :D

From the pictures on what I can assume is some uber-camera, it looks a nice example. Good luck with it :)

Looks like a pretty tidy example :)

My neighbour had a red cav about 10 years ago and I used to love it and dream that one day I'd drive a red Cavalier. Oh dear! lol

I like the tyres... Bravuris?

Brave you is?

You have to be brave to drive that after what PMKeates just said ;)
I think the one I drove had recycled plimsolls mounted to the wheels, so an actual tyre should be fine :D

Nice car!

As said, loose those wheel trims and make sure the sill doesn't start to rust as it will eventually cause an MOT failure.

You can usually get cheap-ish copies of original trims on auction sites - I got some for my Mondeo and they look exactly like factory fit ones but only £15 for four.

Also, I thought all of the last Cavs (i.e. N reg) came with an airbag as standard??

The Cavaliers competency compared to other cars of its time such as the Sierra was a big part of the reason the Vectra was so poorly received. It was expected to be as good as the Cav was when it was released.

I really couldn't care less how much the insurance is, the hubcaps, or whether the dent rusts, all I want to know is when you are driving me and Dave to the pub? :)

when you're a damnsite closer and/or pay for fuel :P you live like 45 minutes away man!

and damnit! wake up and it's snowy and icy outside :( REALLY don't fancy driving for the first time on my own with it like this, hopefully will clear up later in the day.

Nice rG, you've got not excuse for not attending meets now !! :)

what meets have i missed under that excuse :p normally it's been the u18 rule that's thrown me rather than the no car problem ;)

Nice to know I'm not alone :D

Can i ask HOW you made it? i still can't quite fathom how that can be done to the sill there without some midget on a motorbike ramming you :P

Tom.

ack one other problem i'd totally forgotten about: the fuel gauge doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas on how hard or easy a job this would be? I'd prefer to know how much fuel i have instead of guessing :)

Cheers

Tom.
