finally ordered my new cpu cooler

There is another thread here about the same thing, and the conclusion was that it comes with 2 fans, when it was first released it came with 1. I think the second fan is in a separate packaging, so you should get 2 still unless ocuk decided to not supply it anymore.

ok so it arrived this morning with 2 fans thankfully, just installed and couldnt resist it, decided to get my overclock going to 4.5ghz straight away and im very impressed compared to my old arctic cooler pro 7, heres my temps

yep, the cooler itself is very quiet, the whole rig should be a lot quieter tomorrow when my case fans arrive :D

as for the badly placed window, i may do another few overclock runs to see what total speed im happy with vs temps, so u may see the full image later tonight haha

ok so, all didnt go too well haha, so far all iv been doing is upping the multi, at the now 4.5ghz it runs fine, but as soon as i go to 4.6 it is unstable, not down to the heat, more down to me being a noob at overclocking :D, more than likely it has something to do with other settings i.e voltages or something i think, i did look up the thread about overclocking on the gigabyte z68ap-d3 but it only goes to 4.4 ghz which iv already passed just with the multi

Looks like a pretty good cooler for the price, and its quite nice looking.

Ps, who is the hottie on desktop.:D

4.6 needs a lot of voltage on my 3570k.

4.5GHz needs 1.28V
4.6GHz needs 1.32V
4.7 needs 1.38V which is the max I'm willing to go.

Temps are awful at 4.7 (can go over 90), bad at 4.6 (over 80) and just dandy at 4.5. 4.6GHz is fine in normal use, so is 4.7 but on benches it's easily over 90/80, which is fine but, 4.5 is 73 max in stress tests.

The voltage and temp trade off for clock speeds gets worse and worse as you go higher.

ok so been fiddling, and learning a bit more, decided to do another overclock

had to set my vid (dvid) to 1.4v to get it there though
