Finally sorted my Ph.D!

A good document/presentation is down to (in priority).
0. Planning - there's the five Ps: Planning Prevents Pish-Poor Performance. As you'll get caught up in revisions and may end up being 90% happy with the result, make a plan up front to prevent yourself getting rushed and get your tutor to assist you from his experience. Then stick to it.
1. Content - what you're going to present with a flow that has beginning, middle and an end. You may want to agree key points to cover up front.
2. How you communicate that content - how convey the content using language that's clear and concise. Say what you want to say in nouns and verbs, leave the adjectives to those that are attempting to fluff up to make volume and spin.
3. Presentation - layout and style. There's a specific style that you'll need to fit into for publication and so get hold of that up front.
The partner was the British Heart Foundation and as far as I'm aware they weren't at fault.
My supervisor had told me when I accepted the position that the funding was secured and that I would be sent the info when he received it in full. I then got a call down the line telling me that the funding had been pulled.
Straight away I knew that it's more than likely he never secured the funding in the first place and just assumed he'd get it which is pretty arrogant and put me in a pretty bad position. I went from having 3 years of my life planned out to nothing in the length of a phone call :/

There was some mention of me going to Truro to have a look at their (far more impressive) photodynamic therapy equipment but I'm hoping that will be infrequent as it's quite a distance to go (although it's time that can be spent working on the train if need be).
