...now... what should I get with it? Got a prem pack... and have about £100 odd to spend on games and / or accessories...

I'm thinking maybe a second Wireless pad... and then a great 2 player game... and then a good single player game that has great live options...

Or do I just go for 3 games and rely on Live for my multiplayer fix?

I have an ADSL2 connection at 24mbit... which is usually pretty clean on my exchange at the moment... I can get tracks from ITMS in about 2 -3 secs per track... so I know I have good bandwidth to certain sites... How much pipe does the 360 need for lag free play? and are the servers overloaded? or do they seem OK?

Is it worth going for 2 games that I can play vs. in my house and then the extra pad?

If so... Which games!!! ;)

Cheers,
Melon.

Live is great for multiplayer, but you can't beat face-to-face so I'd get a second pad if you've got someone to play with. Games wise there isn't much choice yet. If you like driving games get Project Gotham Racing 3 (great on live, single player is limited), I really like Need For Speed MW too but not everyones taste. If you like console FPS then Perfect Dark Zero is pretty good on live, not great though. Call of Duty 2 has good single player but limited on multiplayer to 8 players (don't have this myself). Other than that Dead or Alive 4 is meant to be good, esp. multiplayer. The other decent games are Kameo and Condemned but I don't have those.

Personally I'm waiting for Moto GP and Gears of War.

Project Gotham Racing 3 is an absolute must, especially on Live. Completing the offline career mode 100% will keep you engrossed for months, and racing online is always excellent fun.

After that, I'd recommend reading the reviews on http://xbox360.ign.com and seeing what takes your fancy. It depends on what type of game you like best.

Agreed, im playing the offline career mode at the minute, fantastic game, and ive finally managed to do the very first cone challenge!!! YAY GO ME!!. :D

Condemend is also a belter, only had a quick go of that to make sure it worked when i picked it up, so ill be playing that after PGR3, then ive got King Kong to get stuck into. :D

I've never quite understood the logic of buying a console and only afterwards wondering if there are any games you like ;) Surely you wait until there are specific titles you want to play before buying a console to play them on. Am I the only one who thinks this way :D

hi.
pgr3 is a must, but also ridge racer6 on line is amazing.
lots of guys on line with this every night.
i already have lots of friends all over the world playing this.
i am on blueyonder and there is verry little lag.

Do you honestly think that ADSL2 at 24mbit isn't going to be fast enough for Xbox Live gaming? :P

hmmm... no.... I just like saying it... :D :D

but the bandwidth at my end is negated if the servers are flooded... which was the question I really wanted answered... ;) I've never been on Live you see... not even with my Xbox1

And now back to the thread topic...

Seems to be a lot of shouts for PGR3 and an extra pad... which I think I'll go for... then 2nd game however... still undecided... Condemned sounds cool... as does PD0... don't think I'll go for 2 driving games so RR6 and NFS are both out for now...

Been having a look round.... when is an incarnation of Pro Evo due out on the 360?

Thanks for all the tips...

Cheers,
Melon.

a bit scabby surley? If I invite them round to mine... I don't expect them to have to bring anything except beer... :D ... but alas... usually they don't...

They turn up at your place with no beer and hog your Xbox 360 that you've paid for and you're scabby ?

hehehe.

Only trouble with PGR3 is the cheating sods on Live, you get one's that insist on ramming people at every given opportunity and I've even had some joker in front of me reverse right into me (putting me in last place instantly) on the start line. If you've got a group of people who know each other I guess it's different but the online career mode sucks unless you're well ahead of the dude in second place.
