I have asked many similar questions but I think I have found the path I will (maybe :p) be taking.... and thats to sell my existing components and then pick up something like the following

Asus ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £224.99

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66GHz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) -
£167.99

Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £133.99

OCZ Gold Low Voltage 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (OCZ3G1600LV4GK) £99.99
Total : £638.12
Add on a bit for a 1/2 decent aftermarket (air) cooler, but to get to that figure I need to recover some ££'s from my existing kit, anyone got any idea how much the following items would be worth? I've split it into two to try and seperate the 1/2 decent from the rest.

E8600
Asus Rampage Formula Motherboard
2 gig (2x1) DDR2 800 MHz Corsair
Asus 8800 Ultra

E6600
Asus P5W DH Deluxe Motherboard
4 gig (2x2) DDR2 667 MHz Kingston
MSI NX7900GTO

I have about 350 cash available for an upgrade - I know I could get a quad 775 (I almost had a 9550 for 100 but that fell through :( ) for 80-150 depending on q6600 / q9550 and then a 5850 but if I could get a couple of 100 for the stuff above then it wouldnt actually cost that much more for the i7 and then it would be fine for a couple of years at least.

Oh and any opinions on the items I've selected? Any obvious weak links there? What with a little one on the way I can see any future upgrades being very sparse so I want to make sure I get the best I can with what I have at the moment.

Thankyou in advance!

So the amended item list would look like this

Asus ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £224.99

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66GHz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - OEM £167.99

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard £156.98

OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (OCZ3G1600LV6GK) £132.99

Total : £694.11

Anyone got any ideas on the above, and on prices for the gear mentioned before?

*Edit* I did look at the 5830 but it seemed better value to get the 5850 for an extra £60?.... That said the 5770 did seem tempting....
