That's why you always compare the number to the back of your card and if they match, call 'em up to confirm. Sometimes they change the number if your card is old so check the website too.

What chance do the public have when banks still send out promotional emails with 'click here' links in them. No wonder when a fraud email arrives asking them to 'click here' to confirm bank details they believe it.
