Do adults in the UK wear hoodies - does not seem a useful functional garment , more warmth from a beany type hat, a polycoton hoody in the rain - have fun with that
Just attribute them as a USA import from gang/drill type culture where people want to obscure their face (OK - Deadpool needed one)
Rocky might have jogged wearing a hoodie, but on the mean streets of Cambridge the loss of awareness a hood gives, could see you knocked over by a bike, or worse.

Most will probably get run over anyway due to wearing headphones / ear buds everywhere.

Because mutiny on the bounty's what we're all about
I'm gonna board your ship and turn it on out
No soft sucker with a parrot on his shoulder
'Cause I'm bad gettin' bolder - cold getting colder
Terrorizing suckers on the seven seas
And if you've got beef - you'll get capped in the knees
We got sixteen men on a dead man's chest
And I shot those suckers and I'll shoot the rest

winter hoodies are nice and toasty warm, none of the hoodies I own absorb water that well.

no restriction of movement like a coat.
more comfortable.
can be as warm as a coat.
more water resistant than you would imagine.

unless it's a summer hoody or cheap paper thin one from primark

I wear hoodies all the time. Handy when the weather isn’t cold enough for a coat but too cold for a t-shirt.

Prefer ones with a zip as you can whip it off.

Why do people wear clothes with nonsensical slogan on them?

I know those two might not be real, but in general there are loads of real examples of t-shirts and hoodies (etc) with writing on them that just doesn't make any sense.

Is it ironic? "Hold it now" is kind of a great example, real or not. Why would you want that particular slogan displayed on your clothing? Does that phrase have some significance?

Do people it funny?

I've never really understood why so much clothing comes printed with really odd/meaningless slogans. "Let's be the one." "Up the cold mountain." "Enter the dreamscape." "Show me your teeth."

Am I the only one actually paying attention to the nonsense that gets printed on these things? And why is it done?

I just ordered these direct from Tokyo Laundry. I suppose you could say they're a cheaper version of Superdry as their styling is similar. I got a black one as well. I'm not into the logos for what they say and represent, I just think it makes them look a bit more interesting and colourful.

I'm sure they're lovely (maybe), but sometimes I get the feeling I'm the only person on this planet that does not want to be an advertising billboard for the company that made my clothes :p

Perhaps I'm yelling at a cloud here, but I've always felt that way. Always hated logos on clothes, unless small and discreet. But I'll be damned if that's what most clothing is like today. As per your examples here, it's all full-screen logos that basically turn you into an unpaid marketeer for their company :p

Hah, I don't disagree with you. Pretty much all of my clothes have either small discreet logos or nothing, and my navy pull over hoodie has none. But now and again I buy something that makes me an unpaid marketeer. :D

SPORTS DIRECT

- is that right - they don't offer refunds for in store purchases if you decide you don't like them ?
made first purchase from them for probably 7 years yesterday, after asking why they didn't give a bag, did ask can I return them/shorts if size is wrong guy said yes -
was thinking I might try next size up and bring that home to make up my mind - but maybe not a good idea.

Yeah, broadly. I got caught out about 13 years ago. I think exchanges are ok but once he's got your cash, the only way you're getting it back is faults/stat. rights.

yes it's not M&S , and does not help the High Street survival - if mike ashley adopts that attitude -

so - back to internet purchasing where you can utilize resources for multiple free returns of wrong sizes - maybe they should be taxed like plastic bags.
