I've lost a bolt holding down a connector in the fuse box and have contacted a dealer to find a replacement but have had no joy. I have the other matching bolt but what I want to know is there a place a can take it to where they'll measure it up and find the exact same one?

Just so typical of me to mess up such a simple job and people wonder why I'm reluctant to do anything myself now.
I think I'll try another Yamaha dealer, you'd think this would be pretty straightforward but nothing ever is.

It's always a lot easier when you have a garage, when I do anything on the driveway or in my garden always lose screws and the amount of time I spend looking for screws is just annoying.

I'll still to the simple servicing, I've replaced the breaks pads myself. But it definitely is easier to work on Japanese bikes, I have to strip half of my bike just to have access to the voltage regulator...

Yamaha Tricity

What happened to the Honda NC700?

measure the length and mm of it and go in local diy shop,or look on ebay for same size bolt

Yamaha arnt verygood,i can pop in cradley kawasaki and they have everything in stock

Measure the bolt, hit ebay, search for the size and you'll get loads of places that will sell you 10 for them for less than the price of one from a dealer.
Or try https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu they have blown up views of pretty much everything that goes on a bike so you can find the exact part you want.

My local Yam garage didn't even have a clutch cable for a YBR in stock so you might struggle to find a random bolt.

we have a place on a industrial unit by me kent bearings i used then for new bolts for my carbs just took one in and they matched it up and i bought 50 for £5

im sure if you went around some industrial parks your find a similar shop

Parts diagrams that dealers use usually show what the bolt is but I can't remember if Yamaha shows it. The thing is you may need to buy the whole fuse box to get the bolts, but I will make a note of this and check tomorrow when I get to work

screw fix? thyre all just standard metric threads so you an replace them with an equally sized bolt, m3/m5 etc

Got a bolt from the Dealer and it's the right size but the wrong length, such a simple task has turned into a nightmare. This is really the last straw for me. I am never doing anything to any vehicle again, life is too short I'm just paying other people now.
