Finding Nemo 2 has been officially announced with a release date of 25th November 2015. Finding Nemo is one of my favourite Disney CGI films and I am digging the name of the sequel :)

From Disney’s press release:

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” said DeGeneres. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”

Director and Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton takes audiences back to the extraordinary underwater world created in the original film. “There is no Dory without Ellen,” said Stanton. “She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world—not to mention our team here at Pixar. One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In ‘Finding Dory,’ she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way.”

According to Stanton, “Finding Dory” takes place about a year after the first film, and features returning favorites Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang, among others. Set in part along the California coastline, the story also welcomes a host of new characters, including a few who will prove to be a very important part of Dory’s life.

Whilst I think this will be good and probably make a lot of money I think Pixar need to get out of the sequal business.

I'd rather have a sequel to The Incredibles tbh, always my favourite and I felt it had much more potential for a follow-up than most of the ones they've done.

Agreed with that, the incredibles had the feel of a (re)origins movie, setting it up for much more later :)

Can't believe toy story is 18 years old...

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. I was expecting the next one within a few years based on the ending with the "Under Miner".

Can't wait for this, dragged my 3 year old to see Nemo in 3D last saturday. Got there early as it was early afternoon and a bank holiday weekend on the first day showing. Their was about 9 people in the screening other than us!

Son wasn't that impressed, but then at his age he prefers the turd that is cars/2 :D Planes later this year will be more his thing I think or Monsters Inc university.

Gutted I missed the 3D re-release of Toy Story on the big screen :(

Amen to incredibles 2, loved the first.
