So snapped a picture of a car parked on double yellow lines at the end of a closed off road during a recent concert. Now I sent the picture to the council asking if the car had been issued a fine as it was there for a good 3 hours. Got an email back saying due to confidential reasons they can't say if it has or has not. Oh and what I think makes it worse is that it was the mayor's car.

Not normally one to be petty about these things but when everyone else has to park and walk then I think it's a little un-fair. Worth carrying it on or will I just get blocked every time?

Can't see what you're going to achieve here.
They are not going the fine the Major's car, and if it was someone else's car, they are not going to be able to tell you if they got a fine, and if they haven't, it's too late anyway.

Your not going to get anywhere, they can't release that information without a court order and you have no grounds for getting a court order.

can they even give fines to people based on photos any individual has taken? seams a bit ridiculous to me.

Don't _think_ thats what the OP is trying to do - he just wants to know if the person was caught and fined. They definitely won't use a picture sent in by a member of the public as a basis tho they might check if there was CCTV or whatever coverage at the time but even if they do they won't tell the OP what action if any they took.

Yeah just want to know if a fine was issued. Not even to who it was issued too.

Just think if I had parked my car there I would have been fined/clamped/towed?

Why didn't you a. put a potato in the exhaust, b. poo on the windscreen/bonnet or c. issue it your own parking ticket declaring he had broken the law of Great Britain??
