Yep, been through that twice now (we're two parties renting individual rooms off the landlord so I negotiate it with him). But it's painful and can take weeks-months. It would be nicer to find good people and not have to go through that.Evict them then for breach of contract.

yes, I work day/night shifts and so does the lodger I have. You both have to be considerate of each other. But I like that we don't have time off at the same time.Personal experience?
If one or other is working nights and the other isn't good chance it won't work unless both are considerate and even then it kind of limits what one can do during the day hours and potentially being woken up at night when they come in.
