I can't find much information in the way of any significant modern anti-fa groups to make any comment on the movement.
the American use of 'liberal' is a bit different to the UK, someone favouring say socialist policies over there could be described as 'liberal'
plenty of antifa members are hard left types, they're very illiberal
Antifa is a modern, non-centralised group that believes in using violence and the threat of violence to dissuade people from gathering or speaking whom they consider "fascist".
Their definition of "fascist" does not match the political or historical meaning.
Don't forget, it isn't just free speech. All across Europe, not just in Germany, you can be sent to prison for questioning the state approved version of history too...:/

That used to be true, but violent, bullying, irrationally prejudiced authoritarian bigots have had almost total success in usurping and corrupting liberalism in the USA and increasing success elsewhere. So "liberal" no longer means "liberal". Quite the opposite. It's like the Nazis corrupting the swastika symbol, for example. The face of liberalism is increasingly illiberal and in many case downright fascist, so "liberal fascism" is definitely a thing now.
