Is the above worth putting on a home system?

Long outstanding argument with a work collegue that its guff and pointless. yes its a kinda fun and a nother bit of technology to have. but it simply isnt worth it. can anyone suggest any good points.

I have it on my laptop but find i have to lick my finger to get it to swipe properly some times lol
