WHY do people do this?

Its not hard to just look at the username to see who posted the post, is there a need for it?

Its like when you write a letter. Some people just like to do it. Cant see it as an issue.

i hate it when people sign every single post - after all, that is the whole point of having a sig!

furthermore their username is alway conected each individual post anyway. :/

Nothing wrong with it.... I only sign posts if I could climb on a airport waiting list for new mexico an go to underland with a bottle of virginia france lemonday..... Err ok that was a bit weird I just started typing randomly, but as I was saying I only sign a post if I started the thread....

Why not put your name or username after a post, makes a change from having girls in your sig as if your a pimp like most in here.

When I'm reading posts my eyes rarely scan to the left to see the name of the user - generally this doesnt matter as people either have a sig or sign off, however the rare occasion someone has neither means I'll never know who posted as I won't make the effort to move my eyes across and look.

What annoys me are the people who start every post with a greeting like "Hi" or "Hello", even if they have already posted in the thread a few times and have addressed the members they are speaking to in the very same thread. You don't say hello to someone every time you speak, i.e:

"Hello sir, how are you?"
"I'm fine, how are you?"
"Hello, I'm good too. Have you been up to much lately?"
"Just the usual, yourself?"
"Hi there, nothing interesting."
"Have you been talking to Finbar?"
"Hi mate, nah I haven't seen him at all."
"I was talking to him the other day, he was asking about you."
"Hello there, really?
"Yes, and stop ****ing greeting me!"
"Hi there, sorry about that."
