Hi,

Decided after watching a mythbusters episode on fat in frying pan fires, if there was a fire (any kind) in my house I'd have a hard time putting it out quick... so i'm gonna get a fire extinguisher.

I've done a little googling and it seems theres quite a few types of them. for general use (well... hope it never gets used ;) ) around the home, what type is best? a foam one (rated bc or abc)? also, anyone ever squirted one? how much foam do you get out of a small 2kg one?

also, where they hell do you buy them from? diy stores?

thanks

Just remember you can't go into buy mode when the fire starts, so you're better off getting one asap.

We have both a powder fire extinguisher and a fire blanket in the house, pretty much can tackle any small household fire with them, if the fire is big then I'd call the fire brigade :)

I have several 2Kg ones about the house, and a special kitchen one for the kitchen,
although there not there to put the fire out, just to give an exit when needed, hope it never is....

bought mine years ago, they I think still work(they have a test button on top, that works). got them from focus IIrc a special offer wernt that expensive
