Firefall MMOFPS [2011]

yeah was on last night and it was night time and it was hardish to see for a while .

some guy was saying you can buy or build torches or something :p
 
Really am surprised with the graphics in this game with everything on, looks stunning in some places, really nice art style.

press X and you get a flashlight (unless its engineer only)


really getting into this game now seems pretty awesome for a game early in beta
 
Aw damn, I really want a key for this, been signed up to their site for a long time now but still nothing in my mail as yet :(

I've been in for a couple of weeks, and been given two so far - I got in with the previous round given. I would expect more keys in the next month or so, they are aiming to release like gmail with the beta to live model.

Although at the moment it is seriously thin on content imho, the idea is great, and the style is excellent, but theres only 3 missions, and you can't move the melding back yet either.
 
Can you kick people in PvP games? was in the middle of a match, then suddenly loading and back at the town place :p game didn't end, game before that I did we had scoreboards up at the end and this game just kinda cut out.

My own beta invite has just come in :) Quite stoked - do we get a server choice and if so which one is best and do we have a list of ocuk players?

People are quite welcome to use my mumble server (the one we use for League of Legends) if they want a common place to hang out whilst playing
 
Unless it was patched recently, I can't remember selecting any server on creation, they only have U.S servers for beta at the moment.
 
played for first time last night, what a great early build, emphasis on 'early build'. There apparently is not a whole lot of content fomr what i read on chat but what there is looks and plays great. Have yet to read the official forums where i expect ill get more answers.

I started at night, so everything was a bit messed up, couldnt see squat and those creepers kept killing me. Finaly found the torch (z) and messed with the screen resolution, got used to my jetpacks, figured out i had two guns and where i could heal and hey presto, those particular creepers are now no problems.

Couple of things if anyone has any experience of them -

- stumbled across a 'local event' basically some NPCs in black shooting stuff up around a malfunctioning thumper which was shedding bits. Picked the bits up but whilst trying to revive a comrade got my butt handed to me. Result - back at base with no bits. What was that about?

- crafting is a mystery to me. How do i go about getting a thumper? armor? better weapons? Why do i need one? Is it solely to gather resources?

Looking forward to getting back on this tonight. I think this will be a game ill spend a lot of time in, in the meantime great fun for a closed beta build.

Sounds like a crashed thumper, local public event I believe you can take part in - think you just need to kill the ever spawning Chosen whilst collecting thumper scrap that appears on the floor.

Did you not get a small quest that introduced you to crafting?. There are crafting stations in the main town. You use schematics to build stuff, these come from leveling up and buying them from your classes vendor. Basically you collect ore, get a schematic and craft it - might involve "refined" materials which is just refining a raw resource into something higher grade.

Sounds like a plan. we could do with a list of ocukers playing, whats the mumble addy? Ill be on tonight and certainly check in to see if anyone is on.
