Firefox 19 Released!

I was actually thinking that FF18 was the most stable and smoothest FF I have used. Then they updated it to 19. Might just be placebo, but doenst seem as stable or smooth as 18. Could just be me.

No issues for me,still stable, fast etc.. I just did the upgrade via browser method,I also updated my Java as well, even no issues with this and Avast 8 RC1 anti-virus installed.

Firefox is crashing for me, has something to do with flash, as when I end flash I can carry on browsing.

pages aren't remembered where you left off after you close chrome, just reloads them and brings you back to the top of the page again, so means you have to scroll all the way through again looking for the last post you read
This is false. Just tested it.

Just tried it out again with the newest version and still the same;

- load page, scroll half way down
- pin tab
- close chrome and relaunch
- page refreshes and outs me back to top

FF 19 is fine for me, will give the built in PDF reader a go.

FF 19 for Android also seems to have fixed a few things as well, and a new feature to it - themes!!!

People cannot read.

Or some choose what they want to read. You know, that selective reading?

Firefox for me, for these reasons!

Have you tried this? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/smoothwheel/ I love this add-on.

Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller, it's smoother than Firefox. :/ I can never get Firefox to glide like Chromium. :/

- firefox allows you to tweak the UI to whatever you want

Vile. I've noticed. ^^ Looks like the days of MySpace displayed on the Firefox UI.

Yup tried that (both the firefox and chrome one) and scrolling by just flicking the wheel down/up on most websites is smoother, however, on image/flash intensive pages then firefox is smoother, also firefox is far smoother when autoscrolling, again especially on image/flash intensive pages. Well that is what I find on my PC anyway :p

Not quite sure what you mean by that UI comment, but firefox looks neat:

Besides, if you really want the chrome UI, install this :p

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fxchrome/?src=search

I will give chrome another go as I really want it to be my main browser but the wee things like the above amongst other things like separators in the bookmarks folder (as well as being able to place it in main bar rather than having a separate bar) always keeps bringing me back to firefox.

Elevon's. I've seen a number of people use the custom backdrops. Sure, thats choices. That look reminds me of all the mess from geocities and such.

That's the great thing about Firefox ,great customization and very good support for tweaks add-ons etc..

Looks like the other "Chrome fan members" have done a great job of derailing this thread so can we keep it on Firefox 19,btw still no issues for me with flash, browsing etc with Firefox 19,very stable on my Win8.

Sib if a gun, that's my Waterfox layout!

ITT: I mention Waterfox > Firefox variants :p

Does FF19 have the same shortcuts and hotkeys as Chrome?

e.g. CTRL+K jumps you to the address bar for a Google search?

Or do you have to map hotkeys like old FF versions and select your search provider removing the junk like Bing or Ask?

AKT+D/CTRL+K etc take you to the adress bar. They're the same.

Just try it and see for yousrself?

I'm not really a Chrome user. I usually only run it from time to time. I'm primarily Safari OS X/Firefox Windows. Chrome does annoy me how you can't drag buttons and their weirdly shaped tabs.

I've noted it starting up faster. I like being able to start PDF's natively now as well!
