Firefox 2 in Linux Lite

My new Acer One, running Linux Lite, loads Firefox 2 as though it's the first time, every time. I get the Welcome page. I can't change my home page and it either won't store bookmarks, or if it does, I lose them when I close the browser because when it next loads, it thinks it's the first time! I've downloaded Firefox 3 in an attempt to solve the problem, but can't find the download on the Acer. I've never used Linux before, so it's really difficult. Advice appreciated.

Sounds strange but I suspect it is something very basic. I don't have an acer so won't try to offer any specific help but would strongly recomend you post in the acer one thread here

Linux is good but it is different and you can spend a lot of time trying to solve a problem that isreally simple when you know how. Linux distros vary from each other so general help can often send you in the wrong direction and hence you would best getting advice from people who actually have experience of the linux shipped with the acer. I think there is also a specific acer one forum.

That machine comes with Linpus Linux Lite which is based on Fedora. I'm sure someone here can tell you what to tell it to grab and install Firefox 3 from either an rpm or using the yum package management system.
