Firefox 3 hanging too often

Today, FIREFOX ( v3.0.4 ) hung.
Done it now 4 times and so, I thought Id ask around...

This is what I get in the VIEW DETAILS dialog box...

What extensions or plugins are you running? Not an FF expert but I would have thought something like that or perhaps even a theme is responsible?

Have you tried running FF in Safe mode without plugins etc to see if it stops hanging or not?

No themes, but plug-ins I have

Adobe Acrobat
Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin
Mozilla Default Plugin
Shockwave Flash

...

What is the Default plugin ?

Anyway, lets have a go... I have disabled them all... I will let you know what it crashes... ( What if it does not? - LOL )

As marclister suggested, safe mode is a good place to start.

does this with me also, i have a suspicion its flash, as most of the time i am on a page with flash .

i will try safe mode

no, no extentions or anything.

Not been using SafeMode yet, Im working on trial and errors and I have turned allthose plugins off and so far, so good....

The missus says it does it on ebay for her, but considering thats all she ever does, that kind of limits the options a smidge.

FLASH? - Yes, could be... I will turn that one first then, but for now, its not crashed since turning them off.

What do I do when it hangs / Swearing... LOL guys, spot on!!!

Gotta say Opera went through a phase like this as well (and yes I did swear while it was happening!). 9.62 appears to be jubly though.

i tried it in safe mode myself and it crashed . so i have deleted the cache and if it still does it i will delete all my history , i don't wan to as i have built up a very large history over many months , and maybe that is the problem.

Well, I have just been doing some junk, some browsing, some YooChoobin' etc and so far, so good.... I am now going to enable the FLASH extention and go to bed... Se what happens tomorrow then.

Also going to do a few cleanups too though.

Have found my firefox keeps hanging on iplayer or youtube video sites. Firefox stalls and also can't move cursor for a around 20 seconds (while I can still hear the video). Then it goes back and stalls again shortly after.

No problems in internet explorer

Deleting the cache is unlikely to do anything. Before you start deleting things, try a new profile.

Noooo

If those two sites are the main ones you see the problem with it's possible, and Flash is known for being crap too. You should expect to see some mention of it in the crash report.

Also had FF crashing on me when on YouTube, which seems to confirm a flash issue !!

I've had it crash (only very recently) and hang on Youtube
