Firefox 3 RC1 out

Firefox on Mac is horrible.

At least this is a step in the right direction. I'll stick with Safari.

FF2 is my browser of choice on Windows (at work). The Mac version is a treacly, crash prone blob who's only saving grace is being able to onto Citrix servers. (Apple are the Safari team listening?)

I was using Safari 99% of the time. FF3 is now good enough to get a look in.

So what's wrong with FF on OS X? I'm using it, I installed it pretty much straight away and added the same extensions I was running on the Windows version. I've had no problems with it and I'm using 2.0.0.14

Most people's complaints are that it doesn't fit in with the OS (for example compare buttons on the Google homepage in Firefox and Safari). Firefox 3 has fixed that in an impressive way though :)

Nothing wrong, but if you don't need the extensions, then Safari is worth a look.

A lot of switchers have never really given Safari a fair go, which is a shame because it's very quick.

Also, hotlinking to the download isn't very nice of you MagicBoy ;)

I love firefox on windows, but on OSX its not very nice well to me anyway. Really does not fit with OSX, I prefer safari on the Mac. Especially now that I found that there is a open source project which has ported Adblock Plus too safari, that addon was one of the main reasons I use firefox on the mac as it makes web browsing a lot nicer and faster.

I have to say safari is the fastest browser I have used. I don't think anything can beat it on the Mac.

Yeah, Safari is amazingly fast. Firefox crashes far too often for me.
However FF is still my main browser mainly due to ad-block plus and a few other extensions that I use a lot.
Having said that I still use Safari a fair bit, the adverts doo get a bit annoyiing tho.

if quick is the only thing you care about then get Opera, as far as I see there really isn't much place for Safari with Opera anf Firefox. (if you like firefox, check out www.takebacktheweb.org - already updated for RC1)

If you're going as far as to say that something is horrible then you should be able to give at least one point to back it up when asked.

Personally I do prefer Safari on Mac, but I think that the vague look 'n' feel and memory complaints usually directed against Firefox are often exaggerated. It's a fine browser.
