Firefox 4.0.1

One problem Im having with Firefox 4 is that when a page has loaded (i can see its 100% loaded) the load bar is still going as if its not fully loaded.

its annoying I have to keep clickng the stop button

Stayed away from FF4 until I found an FF3.6 theme for it. Tabs on top is a terrible design imo and thats why I don't use Chrome either. The tab is linked to the page, so why should it be at the very top of the screen, not the page? There's a status bar addon? rather than that stupid popping up thing at the bottom? Point me!

Installed. Classic set of menus accross the top, tabs on bottom, status bar. Better.

Well... the address bar, search bar and page controls are linked to the specific tab, so they should be within the tab rather than outside it. From that perspective, tabs-on-top actually makes more logical sense.

More to the point, though, putting them in the title bar is a more efficient use of space. Also, it means that you can switch tabs by just moving the mouse against the top of the screen. Faster.

Just installed this earlier today. Not to shabby been using FireFox since it came out and this does look to be the best yet. Oh you can move the tabs to where they where in the previous version

Looks like adding new bookmarks, reloading the browser and the newly added bookmarks disappearing has been fixed! Finally :p.

EDIT: Oh I can finally click searches in my history list in Google toolbar :p. Thanks Mozilla!!! :D

EDIT2: Now it looks like FF remembers the links I clicked, before it kept forgetting I've visited certain pages, which made blog reading a tad annoying.Wow, seems they fixed quite a lot of things with this update!

got a problem with fonts since installing FF4. Under FF3.6 the fonts were clean and sharp, now they just look horizontally stretched, but this is on on the page, all other fonts are fine

Set your homepage to

about:home

^this is the new default homepage for Firefox

or google.co.uk

I'd call 2gb the bare minimum for Vista/7

I've just installed it and I don't like the layout at all. I don't like how much of my desktop I can see through the top portion. It looks like my window needs expanding but it doesn't.

Any link to an older school skin for it?

That is one terrible, terrible layout, it's utterly disgusting and unusable, it's. That bad. Is. There a way to change it back to the old style, or a way to roll back to the old one.

I don't see how it's terrible?

Customise it!

The Neowin forums has a wealth of info on their web browser discussion board and themes/userstyles.

Mine looks like a combination of Chrome and Opera, which is always a good thing.

Why would you put the tabs at the very top? Why would you change the colour so the top bar stands out like a sore thumb, even in your peripheral vision. And why the hell have an annoying pop up load box at the bottom left, just have a bar and stick the padlock on it as well.

I mean good design means least movement for most used commands. Tabs are the most used item on top bar, hence should be on the bottom where they used to be.

I quite like the new FF. but It has a few bugs, one being the drop down menu for previous searches on google toolbar. But I think it looks better how it is, more space for the webpage.

Chrome employs this design as well and IE9 too, this design is a good design and is well regarded too. Just because you like an older design doesn't make a moving trend a bad one.

If you don't like it that much then stick with FF4 and don't use FF4, simple. Better yet, heed the recommendations of many here and just customise it how it suits you, this is FF, not IE/Safari or whatever, options are virtually limitless.

For "me", my Firefox 4 is customised in such a way that my workflow is not slowed down but actually sped up. Tabs on top is swift, keyboard shortcuts cater to many other things and the movable buttons and customised extensions cover everything else either by themselves or via context menus. That's my preference, make your own preference and move with the times!

I don't get why you're always making a big deal out of what is essentially a non issue, all the time.

Every time I've seen you post about something like this it's always been a good old moan about how you don't like it.

Sorry if that's incorrect but your post above and my memory of your previous posts just triggers that impression immediately.
