Firefox 5 , Final?

Have you tried fiddling with pipelining and page rendering delay in about:config?

network.http.pipelining true

network.http.proxy.pipelining true

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests 30

nglayout.initialpaint.delay 0

To be honest I haven't personally noticed much difference with these settings, and in fact all the main browsers seem about equally speedy to me for all practical purposes. I think the breadth and quality of FF's add-ons are pretty much its USP, and if you have no use for them then it doesn't really offer anything worthwhile over the other contenders.
I'll have an experiment, thanks for the tip :)

Smooth Scroll is better than YASS, the acceleration and jump is smoother :)

Also, why do you want a 64bit version? There is limited support for 64bit extensions and codecs/plugins and for a browser, is not needed any time in the near future.

There's been an x64 ff build for years, but without flash x64 there's been no need to make it mainstream sadly. Blame adobe, which I'm sure all the other browser publishers do :)

Well, firefox just prompred me to update it, so obviously its being rolled out now.

After watching too many video streams Windows kept complaining my PC is performing poorly and I should turn Aero off. Closed ff and the problem disappeared. Haven't happened again after a few hours, wierd

What slowness? I used ff4 and now ff5 with Chrome 12 side by side and both are as fast as each other.

You can make the new Firefox look like 3, simply by right clicking on the bar at the top and turning the menu bar/bookmarks on and tabs on top off.

Firefox 5 is defo a nice improvement on 4. Makes the speed of the browser feel a little bit more like chrome.

I cant remember what setting this was that i edited in 4, but want to check if its still intact after the update.

It was the feature in the config that stopped ff telling new websites what site you have come from.
My memory is telling me header forwarding but search don't come up with anything.

Cheeers

Life saver, that was my biggest bug bear. But can also turn it off on 4 why did no one tell me in that thread when I had a moan. Tabs on top make no sense, unless you use address bar more than the tabs.
Last remaining things is the pop up load bar bottom left, anyway to get that in a permanent bar across the bottom, or just turn it off completely.

Any one run bbcodextra and does it work with 5.0?

Also only found the cloud syncing today, what an amazing feature.
