I use to have the exact same layout (and still is pretty much the same :D) as you but I changed the tabs to "wave" instead now! :D :p



I have the same browser layout, windows layout (I use blend V2 or shine as my theme though), gadgets, android home screens layout as you :o, hehe.
 
Look at the post above from me about stratiform, that is all you need to customize FF to your liking.

As for other add ons, the only ones that I have are:

Fox to android

tineye

stylish

download statusbar

speed dial

and of course adblock
 
I'm a bit afraid to upgrade 'all the way from' 3.6 :o Wonder if there's an easy way to run separate installs..
 
Why not just do a fresh install of FF8?

Backup your bookmarks and import them again once you get the new one installed.

You really will notice a massive speed jump and all the new features.

And seriously ever since FF4 was released, IMO this browser is the best now, I use to hate the versions before FF 4 with a passion, the speed was terrible etc. so I used chrome, but now it is complete opposite, the rendering of web pages I think is much better than chrome, the starting up speed is much quicker (chrome is still instant though) and a lot of other reasons, plus for me FF loads pages that have a lot of images, gifs etc. a lot quicker than chrome, however chrome loads pages that are mainly text based a wee bit quicker than FF.

Yeah, likely making a big deal out of nothing. Bookmarks are easy and I just checked that my theme is indeed kept up with the latest version(s), and thanks to this thread I know about the getting my 14 add-ons to work, so just gotta back-up in the probably rare case I'd want to revert. I'll go for it, thanks :)

And TBPH I would be very surprised if you would want to go back to FF3.6 :o after using FF 8 for an hour or so! :p

The only reason is if you have really big problems with FF 8, which I doubt will be the case :)
 
Had to spend an hour reenabling the wifes adblock and download youtube extensions. She was well monged off that it all stopped working. (It took that long as I ditched Firefox ages ago and don't know where the config is).

Going to have to work through this with all of my female relatives, Joy.
