I am having a quite annoying problem when using Firefox. I dont know why this has started ever since my recent windows re-install/format but here goes.

When i am browsing the internet any webpage i go onto that has large images to load up, usually hosted from places like photobucket etc, aol suddenly decides to pop up. It doesnt matter if AOL is close or its opened and signed in. it just pops onto the aol screen and does nothing at all. Its very annoying for me, and especially for threads on this forum like random pictures....

Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

Thanks

You can add your AOL IMAP account to Thunderbird or most other mail programs.

And you can download AIM from here. And kill its ads with this.

The only time the AOL software should be on your computer is when you initially set up your account.

Btw how do you connect to the net?

If you're using a router then you'll be fine. If you're using the USB modem and AOL software then you'll need to reinstall the modems drivers manually (they'll be in a folder on the AOL CD) and then set up a manual direct connection.

Yeah IIRC you can use the automatic dialer program that AOL have this way you don't need to use the AOL browser software that’s of course you are using the USB AOL broadband router & if so buy a proper one something like a Belkin works well with AOL from my experiences :p:D
