Lo,

Been using forefox since 2004, but im ashamed to say I have never used any addon.

After reading a post on here to today about firefox 3 beta 5 I decided to upgrade, must say ff3 is well good.

Been setting up some "smart bookmars" above the tab bar, must say they are really handy.

Just wondering what other cool settings there are? and what add-ons do people reccomend?

Cheers

NoScript and Adblock will be very useful then. You can use Adblock to erm block ads as it happens. :p

And NoScript will allow you to run only javascripts a site needs and not any advertising rubbish etc. :)

Get Adblock Plus and you can subscribe to a filter that will remove a huge amount of ads already.

Linkification will convert any text link into a clickable one which can turn out quite useful.
I also use BBCodeXtra which adds a context menu to your right click where you can insert all sorts of things using bbcode and also html and xhtml.

LOL that's quite a lot of extensions, Firefox will start running slow with too many of them, so choose carefully ;)

I use fasterfox to speed it up again ;)
I also use SiteAdvisor and unplug, the latter of which allows you to download Flash games, and play them at anytime without having to re-download them. :D Finally, I use Keyscrambler to encrypt my keystrokes for logon forms.

When I said slow down, I meant the app's loading time and responsiveness, not how fast it renders websites. But then, you probably already know that :p

naw, sometimes add-ons can increase the time it takes to render a website, esp. if they are checking for things (AV, etc etc).

FasterFox frequently breaks more than it fixes.

I've never seen that happen  I use it on Firefox on Mac and Vista, and I haven't seen anything go wrong because it. No-script, yes, I have seen kill websites, even when allowing scripts.

Secure Login is a good add-on for the username/password concious.

Encrypts everytime you log on and in a click of a mouse button :)

Ideal if you have several cpanels you need to log into over the coarse of a day :D

adblock plus with the Easylist subscription (it's free & simple to setup)

blocks all crap from websites, look google ads and flashing banners etc, i cannot browse the web without this now

i install quite a few extentions, but i could live without them all bar this one.

Showcase
Imagebot - incredibly handy for uploading to imageshack.
Greasemonkey
Better youtube
Open Search Box
All in one gestures
