Hi,

I've got a 7950 gfx card (latest driver version), running windows 8. I've noticed quite a lot of display corruption in firefox. Especially on facebook. It looks like this :

It's quite annoying. Any help would be appreciated

I get the same thing with a 7970, only happens every now and then so it doesn't bother me too much.

Is this with the latest version of Firefox (24, came out just a couple of days ago)? Did it happen before with previous versions? Does it stop when you turn hardware acceleration off?

I have a 7950 with Win 7 but I left my desktop at my parents when I moved for university so I can't test it, but it was fine for me with FF 23 + 13.4 beta 2 drivers (I've been lazy updating drivers :().

It's been happening for me for a while, I updated to the very latest version and it's still doing it. I've read elsewhere the fix is to turn hardware acceleration off, but surely we have hardware acceleration for a reason?

I guess I'll give it a go and see if I notice a difference, I'm sure I won't notice a difference with a 3770k

It's to allow the browser to use the GPU to help render the webpages. It's a good way to check if it really is the GPU causing the problem though. If you don't see anymore corruptions with hardware acceleration off, then it's either Firefox not liking the drivers, or the drivers being incompatible with the GPU. Another thing to try is an older set of GPU drivers to see if that helps.
