Hey All,

I'm trying to access a www.abercrombie.ca or abercrombie.com, but everytime I have clicked the link it redirects to .co.uk .
I want to browse the .ca and .com to see the prices in canada and america.

Any ideas to stop the re-direct, tried a few proxys but still does it, removed cookies from firefox, logged out of iGoogle.

Thoughts?

Thanks

It may be that the site is detecting your browser's locale and redirecting you accordingly.

Not sure if there's much else you can do to fool it, maybe try changing the Firefox language settings to United States (Options - Content tab - Languages)

You can probably use a proxy based in that country to get to the site. If you ask about a free proxy in the Networking forum someone will be able to tell you how to sort one out. I think you can get web based ones as well which are easy enough to sort out.

it isn't firefox, it's the site.

As the man above said, use any free proxy - the likely hood is, it'll be US based

A&F deliberately block UK users from seeing their US website, because of the fact that they charge double the price on their UK items.

Even more so is the fact that if you ordered anything from them, it is sent from the US, so why you shouldn't be able to pay in dollars and they claim you are paying UK VAT, when infact you aren't.

You used to be able to order from them like this before they opened the London store. As others have said, you will be able to do see the site on a proxy, but not be able to order anything.

I hate it when websites do this. I used to order all my dvd's from one particular website in the states which even with the odd time I was hit with duty and vat, they worked our miles cheaper than over here and sometimes you could have stuff on dvd before it was at the cinema over here.

Then the american company I used was bought out by another company who had their own .co.uk website. I was no longer allowed to order from the States even though the .co.uk website didn't sell dvds (even if they had, they would be normal uk prices).
